Feed on a high-protein kitten diet. Visit the grocery store and find food in which the first ingredient is real meat like chicken or salmon. Additionally, do not forget about taurine that is used to maintain the heart and eyes in the diet.
Don’t leave food out all day. Feed consumed 3 to 4 times daily. As the kitten matures, reduce the number of times to feed it to twice per day.
It can be short or long hair on munchkins. Short-haired kitten brush once in a week. Kittens with long hair might require brushing every day to keep their hair untangled.
Wipe up spots with cat-safe wipes as required. Trim nails every few weeks. Regular brushing will help prevent hairballs and create a more severe connection.
Munchkins are good jumpers, though with little legs and great game players. Provide:
- cheap shelfs or cat furniture.
- Interactive toys such as wands, tunnels and balls.
- Safe scratching posts
Allow your kitten to play between 15 and 20 minutes, twice a day. This consumes power and prevents boredom.
Early litter training: the kitten should be introduced to litter training at a young age in a box with low entrance to ensure the animal is able to use it with ease. Treat and praise; this is effective.
Progressively expose the kitten to different individuals, sounds, and habits. This makes it become self-confident and outgoing.
Have regular check-ups with the vets (shots, deworming, microchipping, etc.). Debrief your vet on the most appropriate time to spay or neuter, and use flea protection.
Regular examinations identify issues at an early stage and ensure your kitten lives a healthy and happy life.
Due to patience, love, and good care, your Munchkin kitten will become a self-confident and loving cat that will make your home happier.
